XENIX

XENIX is a Microsoft UNIX system based off of the UNIX Version 7 distribution. Microsoft initially wanted to use UNIX for the systems based on the intel 8086 but could not negotiate a distribution deal with AT&T that would allow it to be profitable. There are a number of processor specific versions of XENIX for the PDP-11, 8086, 68000 and 286.
